Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge Saturday, July 26

Drivers in the area of Bear Creek and Summit roads will encounter hundreds of bicyclists on Saturday, July 26th, as cyclists hit the road for the Santa Cruz Mountains Challenge. The one-day century ride is not a race. It begins at Scotts Valley High School and splits off into three routes, as bicyclists climb Mountain Charlie road before proceeding along Summit Road to Saratoga Gap and Big Basin. All day long, riders will descend Soquel San Jose Road and Mountain View road as they make their way back to the school. Sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Cycling Club, about 500 bicyclists are expected to participate.
