Toyota recalls 370K Siennas

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 11 Sienna vehicles because high concentrations of road salt splashing onto the spare tire assembly attachment may corrode allowing the tire to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects vehicles sold or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The automaker will notify owners of the recall and dealers will relocate the spare tire tot he luggage compartment, for free. Parts are not currently available so owners will get two letters, with the second telling them when o take their vehicle in for the repairs. This recall extends to owners of Siennas involved in prior a prior recall effort in 2010.
