Chrysler, Ford recalling 1 million vehicles combined

American automobile makers Chrysler Group, LLC and Ford Motor Company are recalling more than 1 million vehicles combined due to safety concerns. Here's the breakdown: Chrysler is recalling 644,850 certain model year 2010-14 Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles because they may experience overheating of the vent window switch in the driver's door armrest, possibly causing a vehicle fire. The company will notify owners while dealers will make the repairs for free. The recall is to begin in June. Chrysler's recall number s P25. For information, call the company at  1-800-853-1403. Meanwhile, Ford has issued a recall for 594,785 certain model year 2013-14 C-MAX and Escape vehicles. The company reports the restraint control module may have errors in the programming software which may result in a delayed deployment of the side-curtain rollover air bag, causing increased risk of injury to passengers in those vehicles. Ford will notify customers and dealers will reprogram the restraint control module at no cost to the vehicle owner. The recall is to begin this month. Ford's recall number is 14S04.
