Bridge work rescheduled to next week

Bridge work that had been scheduled this week for the overcrossing at Highway 1 and Bay Avenue in Capitola has been pushed back to next week. From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13, Caltrans to close the southbound on-ramp to Highway 1 from northbound 41st Avenue, as well as  the southbound off-ramp to Highway 1 at Bay so crews can replace joints on the Bay Avenue bridge. The work, which was planned for four nights this week, will take only two nights next week. As a detour, motorists may opt to take 41st Avenue to Soquel Drive then on to Porter Street to the southbound Highway 1 on-ramp at Bay. Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones. It's the law.
