New traffic signal installation at Soquel Ave., Park Way Tuesday
As construction begins to wind down on the $1 million widening project along Soquel Avenue at Park way, crews Tuesday will remove the old traffic signals so that new ones can be installed. From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., that intersection will operate as a four-way stop. By 3:30, the traffic signals should be operational again. The work is part of a larger project that began in December. Crews have been working to widen Soquel Avenue for the installation of left turn pockets, install new traffic signals, signs, road striping, retaining walls, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and storm drain system. People passing through the area should expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday on Soquel Avenue, Park Way and Park Way South through the project's duration. It is to wrap up next month. Stay abreast of project updates at http://soquelparkway.blogspot.com.
