GM recalls 1.2 million vehicles because seat belts, side impact air bags may fail

Fear that seat belt pretensioners and side impact air bags may fail during a traffic collisions, General Motors is recalling 1, 176,407 certain model year 2008-13 Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia, as well as the 2009-13 Chevrolet Traverse and 2008-10 Saturn Outlook vehicles. If such a failure should occur, the driver and his or her front seat passenger could be injured. The company will reach out to vehicle owners and dealers will replace the affected harness connections with soldered connections for free. A notification schedule has yet to be released. The recall number is 14030. Vehicles repaired during a customer satisfaction campaign and special coverage are not included in the recall.
