Fuel leak behind Honda recall of 886K Odyssey vehicles

Honda is recalling 886,815 certain model year 2005-10 Odyssey vehicles because a fuel pump strainer cover may deteriorate and allow fuel to seep out, increasing the risk of a fire. Honda will notify owners with an interim letter next month alerting them to the recall. A second notice will be sent when a remedy comes available. That could be this summer. Vehicles currently experiencing a fuel leak will get a replacement cover. An improved cover will be provided when they become available. The companies recall numbers are JD9, for inspection and/or preliminary replacement, and JE0, for final parts replacement. For information, call Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
