Call for a Tipsy Tow on Super Bowl Sunday

There may be nothing like tossing back a few spirits to bring out the spirit of a Super Bowl party. If consuming alcoholic beverages is part of your grand football finale this weekend, consider calling upon AAAs Tipsy Tow program for a safe ride home for you and your vehicle. Simply call 800-222-4357 or AAA-HELP between 6 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2 to 6 a.m. Feb. 3 to use the free service. The one-way ride service is available for members and non-members alike. Reservations will not be taken. Any passengers who rode to the Super Bowl party with the inebriated driver also may get a Tipsy Tow ride to the driver's home if there is room in the tow truck's cab. AAA offers this service in an attempt to curb Super Bowl Sunday -related DUI traffic collisions and the injuries and deaths that may result. “Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most dangerous days of the year for motorists,” said Cynthia Harris, AAA spokesperson. During Super Bowl Sunday in 2009, the California Highway Patrol reported that 11 people lost their lives in alcohol-related crashes. That’s three times the state's daily average. Additionally, 163 people were injured in crashes involving alcohol.
