Volvo recalls 30K due to low oil warning system malfunction

Volvo Cars of North America is recalling certain model year 2011-12 S60 vehicles because they may not alert the driver to low oil pressure. Without that warning, the driver may continue to drive the vehicle until it stalls, increasing the risk of a crash. The company will reach out to owners, while dealers will update the vehicle's software so the low oil warnings work, free of charge. The recall is to begin around the end of December 2013. Owners may call Volvo at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's recall campaign No. is R29436.
