Ridesharing summit next month in San Francisco

Second to the cost of housing, transportation is quite the costly expense for the typical household. If sharing vehicles could reduce the expense enough to make less of a dent in your pocketbook, would you sign up? Come Oct. 10-11, the transportation-minded will gather at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District, at 750 Kearny St., for the Shared-Use Mobility Summit. The summit will discuss shared-use mobility in its varying forms, such as including carsharing, bikesharing, ridesharing and emerging sharing options. Participants will join representatives from regulatory and planning agencies, along with allied industries, such as auto insurance companies, vehicle manufacturers, and technology providers in exploring ways to shape the agenda for next steps, education/outreach, industry-wide collaboration, policy development and future research. Registration is $350 for the two day event. For information, see www.sharedusesummit.org.
