AAA, Red Cross offer community disaster assistance training

If you are on the road when disaster strikes, would you know what to do to help those around you? AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah and the American Red Cross are teaming up to offer free disaster training through a new community program, called "Ready, Set, Respond!" AAA is sponsoring the program to the tune of $650,000. In the 90-minute course hosted at AAA offices, participants will learn the basics of emergency and disaster response, preparedness education, as well as ways to support first responders in the event of earthquakes, wildfires or floods. "We are proud to be working with AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah to empower everyday people to make their communities safer and more resilient.” said Mark Cloutier, Regional CEO of the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter and Gateway to the Golden State Region. “The more prepared our communities are, the faster they will respond to and recover from an emergency or disaster.” Learn how to get involved by visiting http://www.redcross.org/ca/santa-cruz.
