Hyundai-Kia recalls 20K Santa Fe Sport vehicles due to axle shaft problem

A manufacturing issue may lead to a crack in the right front axle shaft in 2013 Santa Fe Sport vehicles made from July 2012 through March 2013 with 2.4 liter engines. Some 20,300 vehicles are being recalled as a result. The problem may cause a loss of power to the wheels. Also, the vehicle may roll away if parked without the parking brake applied. Both scenarios may increase the risk of a crash. Hyundai will notify owners while dealers will replace the front axle assembly at no charge. The recall is to begin this month. Hyundai's recall number is 112. For information, call 1-800-633-5151.
