Bike Week Festivities kick off today at the MAH

The 26th annual Bike Week kicks off at 5 p.m. today with First Friday at the Museum of Art & History, 705 Front St., Santa Cruz. (map) Attendees are encouraged to ride their bikes to First Friday for participatory events, including bike decoration stations and spin-art spoke card making. After decorating their bikes, participants will pedal in art parades around town, led by People Power bike parade experts. During the free event at the MAH, there will be bicycle-inspired art, such as paintings, photographs, prints, sketches and sculptures from local artists. Here's a rundown of what to expect during First Friday: Bike Week First Friday will also include:
  • Complimentary valet bike parking
  • A pop-up parklet on Front Street for relaxing after riding
  • Free 15-minute massages for cyclists
  • Free face painting
  • Chalk art drawing
  • Student art displays from Bay View Elementary and Spring Hill students
  • Spin-art spoke card making
  • Bike decoration stations – flowers, streamers, glitter and more.!
  • Kinetic Bike Sculptures
  • Bike Part Jewelry
  • Bike Inspired Clothing
  • Bike-Blended Margaritas

    Actually this is what i am expecting from this blog. Bike safety is should be considered as serious issue. Old bikes electronic equipments should be recycle to prevent damages.
