Crashes involving large trucks means death for those in the other vehicle

Fact from The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: Passengers in vehicles involved in crashes with large trucks are more likely to die as a result on that collision. "In 2011, 3,757 people were killed in motor-vehicle crashes involving a large truck," the agency reported Monday. "Over 70 percent of those people were riding in the other vehicle in the large-truck crash." To avoid becoming among these statistics, check out the California Driver Handbook section regarding Sharing the Road with Large Trucks and RVs at http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/shr_lgtruck_rv.htm.
