Hwy 9 construction nears completion
Grinding and paving are planned for Wednesday and Thursday, April 10 and 11 on Highway 9 just north of Glen Arbor Road to Highlands County. The $1.3 million viaduct project began last September. The temporary traffic signal has been removed and the highway is open to two-way traffic. A detour will be in place along Glen Arbor until the grinding and paving are done. Work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes. When the work is complete, the landscaping portion of the project will continue for about a year. Lane closures will not be necessary for the landscaping work. Caltrans reminds motorists to slow down or move over when driving through work zone. It's the law.
