Incorrect steering column assembly behind Honda recall

Honda is recalling 157 model year 2012 Civic vehicles due to poor steering column assembly. The company reports this problem may mean a lack in proper energy absorbing characteristics, meaning there may be an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. Vehicle owners should expect to hear from Honda, which will inspect and replace the steering column as necessary for free. The safety recall number is S69. The recall is to begin Dec. 4.
