Zero, Ford issue recalls
Zero Motorcycles and Ford are recalling vehicles due to safety concerns. Read on: ZERO Zero Motorcycles, Inc. is recalling 254 model year 2012 S, DS, X, XU and XU-LSM motorcycles because they could short circuit. Insufficient weatherproofing may cause a short circuit in the battery management system during wet conditions. This could make the motorcycle lose power, which could lead to a crash and potential injury or death to the rider. The recall is to begin this week. The Scotts Valley based company will be in touch with owners and dealers will repair the motorcycles for free. Zero owners can contact the company at (888)786-9376. FORD Ford is recalling 8,266 2013 Escape vehicles and 783 model year 2012 F-650 ad F-750 vehicles. A problem with padding can impede a driver's ability to effectively apply the breaks, increasing stopping distances, is behind the Escape recall. Meanwhile, missing clear and black primer on the truck models may be missing, causing an insufficient bond between the glass and the cab structure, and a separation of the windshield from the vehicle. Both problems can cause an accident, injury or death and both recalls will begin this month. The safety recall number for the Escape campaign is 12S34, while the truck recall campaign number is 12S33. The company will contact owners and dealers will fix the problems for free.
