Work on Chestnut Ext. begins Tuesday

Beginning July 17, southbound Chestnut Street, between Mission and Locust streets will be reduced to one lane as the city repairs a slip-out and improves pavement and drainage there. Once the project begins, left turns from Chestnut onto Locust Street will be prohibited. During the second half of the project, the Locust Street path will close. Notices will be posted at the top and bottom of the path one week before that happens. What's more, part of the Rincon Street public parking lot near the park will be removed during construction staging. The project is to wrap up in early November. The city apologizes for any inconvenience this project may cause. For information, call Chris Chang, associate engineer, at 420-5427.
