Honda recalls 52K Acura vehicles

High under the hood and power steering fluid temperatures are behind Honda's recall of 52,615 2007-08 Acura TL vehicles. The fear is the hot temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely, causing cracks in the hose, leaks, under hood smoke and possibly fire. Honda will contact vehicle owners and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose for free. The recall is to begin around mid-June. Honda's safety recall number is S39. Customers can call the company's customer service line at (800) 999-1009. Information about this and other recalls is available by calling the National Highway Traffic safety Administration's vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236 or by visiting www.safercar.gov.
