Ford, Honda recall nearly 700K vehicles due to safety concerns

Wiring problems are behind vehicle recalls issued by Ford and Honda. The recall of Ford Focus and Honda CR-V and Pilot vehicles totals nearly 700,000. Read on: Manufacturer: Ford Vehicle model(s): 2012 Focus vehicles made between Aug. 1, 2010 to Oct. 18, 2011 Number of vehicles impacted: 140,310 The problem: The passenger side windshield wiper may stop working due to an issue with the wiring seal, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a traffic collision. The remedy: The company will notify Ford vehicle owners, while dealers will inspect, clean and properly seal the passenger side motor connector. Wipers that have are inoperable will be replaced. Manufacturer: Honda Vehicle model(s): 2002-2004 CR-V and 2003 Pilot vehicles Number of vehicles impacted: 554,428 The problem: The low beams can stop working due to a wiring problem, increasing the risk of a collision. The remedy: Honda will reach out to vehicle owners and dealers will make the repairs, if necessary, for free. The safety recall is to begin around April 24. Honda's recall campaign number is S34.
