Recalls for Ducati, Nissan, Subaru and Honda

Fuel line leak and problems with curtain airbags are behind recalls announced by Ducati, Nissan, Subaru and Honda. Read on: Manufacturer: Ducati Vehicle model(s): 2011-2012 Hypermotard and Monster motorcycles made between June 25 and Nov. 30, 2011. Number of units recalled: 913 The problem: Micro cracking in the fuel lines may cause a fuel leak, which, if there were an ignition source nearby, could cause a fire. The remedy: The company will contact owners. Dealers will replace the fuel lines for free. A recall schedule has yet to be determined. Manufacturer: Nissan Vehicle model(s): 2012 Altima and Versa vehicles Number of units recalled: 976 The problem: An incorrect mixture of propellant used in the side curtain airbags initiator component may mean the airbags will not deploy during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants. The remedy: Nissan will notify owners of the recall, while dealers will replace one or both side curtain air bag modules, as necessary, at no cost to the vehicle owner. Manufacturer: Subaru Vehicle model(s): 2012 Legacy and Outback vehicles made Dec. 1-23, 2011 Number of units recalled: 381 The problem: An incorrect propellant mixture may mean the curtain airbags in these vehicles may not deploy in the event of a traffic collision, increasing the risk of injury. The remedy: The company will notify vehicle owners and the dealers will replace one or both side curtain airbag modules for free. The safety recall is to begin around in April. Manufacturer: Honda Vehicle model(s): 2012 Accord, Crosstour, Civic and 2012 Acura MDX Number of units recalled: 974 The problem: The driver-side or passenger-side curtain airbag may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The remedy: Honda will replace the curtain airbag as needed at no cost to the vehicle owner. For information: Contact Honda customer service at (800) 999-1009.
