Maserati, Honda, Toyota recall 2,800 vehicles
Maserati, Honda and Toyota are recalling 2,748 vehicles due to safety concerns. Read on: Manufacturer: Maserati Vehicle model(s): Certain model year 2008-10 Granturismo and Granturismo Convertible vehicles made from June 2008 through March 2010. Number of units recalled: 1,768 The problem: Faulty lamp assembly in the rear tail and brake lights can make it difficult for other drivers to see the vehicle from behind, increasing the risk of a traffic crash. The remedy: Maserati will notify owners while dealers will inspect and replace affected rear tail lamp assemblies for free. The safety recall is to begin later this month. The safety recall number is 198. For information: Contact Maserati at (201) 816-2600. Manufacturer: Honda Vehicle model(s): Certain model year 2012 Accord and Crosstour vehicles. Number of units recalled: 347 The problem: The curtain airbag inflator on the driver or passenger side may not meet specifications and may fail to deploy – increasing injury – in the event of a traffic collision. The remedy: As needed, Honda will replace the non-spec air curtain for free. The safety recall is to begin around Feb. 10. For information: Contact Honda Customer Service at (800) 999-1009. Manufacturer: Honda Vehicle model(s): Certain model year 2011-12 Ridgeline vehicles made from Aug. 25 to Nov. 29 of last year. Number of units recalled: 206 The problem: The spare tire in the affected vehicles may not match the information on the vehicle's tire information placard. Incorrect labeling could lead to improper tire inflation, which can cause tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. The remedy: Honda will notify owners of the safety recall and dealers will inspect the spare tire and exchange the spare tire assembly or replace the tire information placard as necessary at no cost. Number of units recalled: 427 The problem: One or both of the curtain air bags may not inflate in a crash because the incorrect propellant was used in the airbag inflator, leaving the occupant at greater risk of injury in a traffic collision. The remedy: Toyota will notify vehicle owners and dealers will use the vehicle identification number to track down the vehicles with the affected curtain shields and replace the assemblies as necessary for free.
