Learning to ride a motorcycle

This past March, I participated in the motorcycle safety course taught through Cabrillo College Extension. With May being Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, I urge people who are thinking about getting a bike for the first time or who have been riding for years to take this course. There, I learned key core skills of operating a motorcycle -- starting, stopping, collision avoidance, riding over debris and the importance of being aware of my surroundings. Below are links to cell phone video I shot of instructors Colleen Sepulveda, a lieutenant with the Santa Cruz police department, and Conrad Sudduth, manager of the Scotts Valley recreation department. Stay tuned for my story on taking the DMV's written motorcycle test and search for the "perfect" first bike.
