Got traffic tickets? Pay online

Today's column topic about paying traffic tickets online comes from "Ask George," the Department of Motor Vehicle's weekly transportation column. If you're out and about in a different county when you get pulled over by a law enforcement officer and cited for some illegal maneuver you did on the road, you don't have to drive back to that county's courthouse to pay your fine. You can do it online at www.dmv.ca.gov, click on Online Services, then scroll down and select Traffic Payment. The service is also available in Spanish. What's more, if you are eligible to you sign up for traffic school, you do not have to take the course in the county you received the ticket. You can request to have it moved closer to home or opt to do it online.
