AAA launches Keys2Drive website for teens, parents

Parents seeking more info to better teach their teen safe driving techniques can turn to AAA of Northern California's new website, called "Keys2drive." Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teens in the U.S. and the first few years of unsupervised driving are the most deadly. Keys2Drive is an interactive site that provides parents and teens with specific information based on where they live, as well as where they are in the learning process -- from the pre-permit stage all the way until they are driving solo. "Parental involvement is critical in developing safe and prepared teen drivers," said Matt Skryja, AAA spokesman. "AAA Northern California recognizes the learning-to-drive process can be intimidating, particularly for today’s busy families. The Keys2Drive site is a unique and comprehensive teen driver safety website that simplifies the process by offering parents the tools and resources they need as they progress through each stage of the process." The site features state-specific information for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Parents in the Golden State will find information about its graduated driver licensing system, selecting a driving school and choosing the right vehicle for their teen driver. The site also spells out some of the common risks associated with teen drivers and offers tips on how to save money on auto insurance to cover their teen.
