Santa Cruz paving project update

The city of Santa Cruz has wrapped up paving on Pacific Avenue at Third Street. A concrete barrier blocking access to Second Street from Cliff Street to Younger Way has been put into place, said Josh Spangrud, associate engineer for the city. The barrier will remain in place through this week. "All that is left to do are some Americans with Disabilities Act r(equired) ramps and some valley gutters, he said. The gutters will be installed across Soquel at Pacific avenues and across Cooper Street at Pacific Avenue. Construction will require the closure of the side streets for about a day or so, Spangrud said. The closure would not include Pacific Avenue, he said. "After that, there is just the striping left," he said. Stay tuned for more updates.
