Facebook group pays tribute to the dangers of Highway 17
One of the newest groups on Facebook is geared toward our very own Highway 17. “Not Crashing on Highway 17” was started on Feb. 22 because, as its creators says, not “many people are fans of crashing” on that winding, mountainous road. The group provides a forum for people to share tales about their travels over the highway and gripe about other drivers on the road. While the site features videos of people making it safely to their destinations via Highway 17, others posted photographs of their demolished vehicles as a result of a crash on the treacherous road. Street Smarts tried contacting the creator for an interview, with no response. So far, the group has nearly 1,200 fans.
