Holiday road trip tips

With winter holidays around the corner and more people on the road to celebrations with family and friends, the Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency traffic safety staff, Safe Kids Chapter and California Highway Patrol remind revelers to do the following:

  • Have all passengers buckle up and make sure children are properly restrained in safety seats.
  • Designate a sober driver or call a taxi to safely shuttle everyone home.
  • Slow down and be respectful of others on the road, including bicyclists and pedestrians.
  • Dial 911 to report unsafe driving behavior and suspected DUI drivers.
