The best clothing to wear when riding a motorcycle

The DMV is offering some fashion advice for motorcyclists. While most vehicle versus motorcycle crashes occur during the daylight hours, the state agency encourages riders to wear brightly colored apparel to help other users of the road see them better at any time of day or night. Try wearing a bright orange, yellow or green jacket or vest. A brightly colored helmet also will help motorists see you. The state agency also suggests adding reflective materials to your vest and on the sides of your helmet to catch people's eye. These and other safety tips are available in the DMV's online California Motorcycle Handbook at  http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/pubs.htm.
