Is that driver education school licensed with the DMV?

Parents who are looking to make sure the driver education school they plan to enroll their teen in is licensed with the Department of Motor Vehicle’s can now check the state agency’s web site.

To launch a research, visit www.dmv.ca.gov. Click on “Online Services,” then “More Online Services” before scrolling down and clicking on “Occupational License Status Information System.”

Once there, input the business name, city and zip code into the spaces provided and submit your query. The site will then tell you whether or not the company’s license is valid. It also indicates if the company has any current or previous administrative action taken against it.

The site provides the same information regarding all companies that need a license from the DMV to do business. That includes dismantlers, distributors, various driving programs, transporters, vehicle dealers and more.

On a side note, all DMV offices will be closed Tuesday, March 31 in observance of the Cesar Chavez holiday.
