The CHP and local law enforcement agencies are encouraging Super Bowl party-goers this Sunday to designate a sober driver to shuttle them home from the game day fun.
It's either that, or risk being pulled over by one of the many law enforcement officers who will be on the road looking for impaired drivers. Of course, there's also the risk of causing an injury or deadly crash when driving while drunk.
Last Super Bowl Sunday, CHP officers statewide arrested 403 motorists suspected of driving while intoxicated.
What’s more, 12 people were killed and 167 others injured in alcohol-involved collisions statewide.
That’s three times the daily average in California , according to the CHP.
