Week 2: Cabrillo at De Anza


TIME: 7 p.m. Friday.
PLACE: Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills.
LAST YEAR: Cabrillo lost, 31-7.
NOTES: Cabrillo lost 35-33 to Los Medanos, while De Anza dropped last week’s game 13-10 to Contra Costa after an opening-season 44-17 win against San Jose City. Seahawks QB Brent Moyer, despite throwing a pick late, was praised by teammates after going 14 of 27 for 164 yards behind an improved offensive line. He also ran the ball for 68 yards and a pair of scores, while returning running back Dylan Jackson nearly exceeded last year’s rushing total with 191 yards on the ground. Cabrillo allowed 303 yards of total offense, 218 of which came in the air. The Seahawks did not record a sack. It will go up against a De Anza team that is second in the NorCal Conference in passing with 247.5 yards per game. QB Josh McCain is 37 of 78 for 495 yards with six TDs and seven INTs. He has sprayed the ball to 11 different receivers, including Rodney McKenzie, who leads the team with 10 receptions for 204 yards and three TDs. Freshman Kaelum Harvey, an Oak Grove alum, leads the team with 103 yards rushing.
