That’s a nice group of photos! Thanks for a good job telling the visual story. And of course, including so many nice shots of my dear friends of many years. I’ve already sent them the link to this slide show.

Beautiful shots, Shmuel!

It’s Great!
Unless you believe the Bible.

The Bible says not a single thing about same-sex marriage. Nada. It wasn’t a concept 2,000 years ago. The Bible also says nothing about antibiotics, space travel or Tivo. The Bible does talk about Lot bedding his daughters, every day slavery, the slaughter of innocents and a rain of frogs. Times change.

God gave mankind free-will, but He will judge.

Scott .. I have searched and I have found a testimony of truth which burns as bright as the midday sun. That is unless you are willing to follow all of the teachings of the bible, including stoning your children, parents and wife if they lose faith, you are a fake. The bible very specifically states that it is not open for your interprutation. There is absolutely no biblical basis for picking out the parts YOU think continue to be relevant. Either believe it or don’t. Fess up or pick up some stones… Me? I chose not to kill my family because they don’t believe as I do… I’ll attend their wedding ceremonies instead. Cheers

Great presentation of these stories in the lives of our friends and neighbors. Regarding the Bible, it is as diverse as humanity. And the Bible tells many stories of the conflict between marginalized people and institutional power structures. Jesus and the prophets always side with the outcasts, and proclaim the fundamental worth of every human person, and call us to change our laws so they serve justice and full participation for every person.

I see lots of the old faces from town but where are all the 20-something’s? Is this really a serious issue in the G&L community or is it just the whim of a few old fa…..rts! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see! BTW-How many “partners” did each of these couples have before this momentous occasion? Lots; I recognize a few of you! Oh to be a divorce lawyer in SC! I could possibly afford to buy a house here!
Dan Dickmeyer // Jun 18, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Why would it matter how many previous partners someone had. And no, why should 20 somethings rush into marriage. Even Dr. Laura preaches against that for straights. Perhaps rather than speculating that 20 somethings are out seeing how many times they can get laid, maybe they, like everyone else, are looking for that right person to be their marriage partner.

Oh yes, let’s stone to death men who lay with men as women as it says in Leviticus… and while we are at it let’s stone those who do not keep kosher and those who do not observe the Sabbath which starts at sundown on Friday and is not Sunday. Or how about this… instead of cherry picking Old Testiment laws that discriminate against people who invoke fear in us, how about we just love and cherish each other for the short time we have on Earth? Is that too much to ask or does your imaginary friend tell you to spew the venom hatred whenever you can?
Congratulations to the newly married!

Gorgeous photos. Thank you for the visual story-telling. Tears fell from my eyes the entire time I viewed them. Justice has been done.

Let’s see, two days after the marriages began, the sun has come up, the lgbt community is judged by someone speaking for God and apparently does not understand God’s love and the world has not ended. I see God’s hand in all of these but one.
Perhaps helping someone in need instead of judging others will give some a different perspective. Until then, maybe you should remember that if god didn;t make homosexuals, there would not be any.

Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”
Regina // Jun 19, 2008 at 1:43 pm
God has love, but God demands obedience. His wrath is as strong as His love. God didn’t make homosexuals, he made Man and woman, and gave them free-will to obey or rebel. He will judge.

It warms my heart to see so many happy people rejoicing in something that should never have been illegal.
Yay gay people!!
Truth // Jun 19, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Do what you will. But realize you are an abomination to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6
6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, 6:10 thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. 6:11 Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Hmmmm……I’m not the least bit religious, but it sort of creeps me out a bit to see same sex people kissing on the lips. It just doesn’t quite seem right.

Thank you to Shmuel Thaler for the beautiful photograhs. I could never look at people who are so happy and feel anything but pride that we live in a state that promotes basic civil rights. Congratulations to our brides and grooms and to Gail Pelligran and her staff for making this such a special day !!!
Seeker // Jun 20, 2008 at 9:00 am
That’s the way a lot of people feel Chandra. We have an innate sense of right and wrong.

If they want to be miserable like most of the straight, married population, more power to ‘em. Divorce attorneys all over California are rejoicing…
Tell me why this is so important again? I don’t give a rat’s behind who’s married, who’s gay, or who gets their kicks from enjoying a fun-packed weekend in Mexico with an intimate friend of the equestrian variety.
Why are people so bent on getting other people involved in their personal lives? And why are others so concerned about what people do in private?
This whole thing is about as interesting as discussing the benefits of flossing with my tax accountant. But that’s just my opinion. I did bother posting a comment, after all. Enlighten me, please.

How wonderful to find this slide show on the Sentinel site today! Thanks for showing us such joy and pride in all theses faces.
And Shmuel - you so rock, my man! I always look through your photos, with eager appreciation.
Love is more powerful than fear, once again.
Blessings for us all, to share in the love.

New Testament
Ephesians 5:31 (New International Version)
31″For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
Romans 6:23 (New International Version)
23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You can stop trying to prove God is in favor of homo-sex. Just acknowledge you either don’t accept His Word or that you choose to defy Him. That would be more honest to you and everyone else.
