I hope the wind dies down and the fog comes in and that all the folks are safe. Getting burned out sucks but injuries and death from fire are worse. Stay safe!

That’s crazy…I knew something was up when I was driving south on highway 1 this morning. Right when I took the fishhook from 17 I thought it was just a spectacular view of some sunrise clouds. Apparently it was the billowing smoke across the county.
Thanks to all who are trying to control it…Hope everyone stays safe.

My friend is helping evacuate a bunch of horses. Everyone stay safe and to all the brave people out there helping put out the fire, evacuating animals and helping out families, you are rad!

My thoughts and prayers are with the courageous people trying to put the fire out;
the people who have to evacuate and people who have lost their homes.
and for the poor animals domestic and wild.

Does anybody know how I can help rescue the domestic animals? Would I contact Animal Services?

I just found out about the fire. Having lived in the hills for a long time and now back East, seeing the slides brought the feeling back again.
I know everyone works together, support the fire fighters and hold on.
Bless you all.

Good luck to everyone. I live in Big Bear in Southern California. We have had our share of fires including being evacuated for over a week. It’s a horrible thing. Be safe.

My family just moved to Boulder Creek in the S.C. Mts. in November. I am so sorry for those who have lost their homes in this fire, it really is a tragedy and I hope that you are able to find some solace during this time. Please take comfort in knowing that many in this county and all over the state have you in their thoughts and prayers, including myself.
May God bless you and all of the folks working their butts off to try to put an end to this inferno.

My heart goes out to all God’s creatures that got effected by this fire. I pray that you find comfort and shelter in God’s love. Peace be with you and your loved ones and pray that you will get back on your feet very soon. Remember that God is love and you are his child.

I’m in Santa Cruz & this smoke is crazy! My prayers are with the residents of Corralitos. I hope Katrina taught us a lesson. DO NOT EVACUATE WITHOUT YOUR PETS! I heard this morning that the fire is only 20% contained. All my best wishes of safety go out to our firefighters, y’all are doing a great job!

This is to Mary Ellen - this is your next door neighbor. We were in Voluntary evacuation. The first 4 hours were the worst. We packed all our computers, dogs, pictures and left, not knowing if we could come back. We had friends and brother come to get the rest, but by 1:00 it had shifted a bit south east. We were over at Agnello’s off and on all day watching the giant billows flowing down Eureka Canyon and glowing last night. This morning as the fog cleared we kept saying “Where is the smoke?” My brother was going back to SF and called from Los Gatos - It is thick all through San Jose and over HWY 17. The wind is calmer today. And they are predicting cooler weather as well. But it was very scary yesterday. Rider Rd is still evacuated, but the fire did not get down that far, so hopefully it will calm down as predicted.
Hope all is well there - We heard about the VOG.

By the way, we are videographers and it is strange to have a camera out videoing your own possible disaster. We left all our cameras in Aptos. (Now on a lap top only) When we get them back, we will put a little bit of yesterday morning on our You Tube Channel. It is not as dramatic as a lot of these pictures, since we were IN the smoke. Just a small very red sun and very dense smoke. Red eyes and hard to breathe.
www.YouTube/Video4 - Today is Friday at about 10:00am.

I just want to thank all of the firefighters and everyone else who are in the throws of this fire. My parents home is in the Uvas Canyon (Croy Rd) area and my father is busy taking care of my mother in a San Jose Hospital and has been for the last 6 months. If their home were to burn down it might be too much for him to bear.
Thank you to all for the work you do. God Bless you.
