When Suzi Eszterhas was a little girl, she’d pose the house cats for photographs in the backyard and tell her mom they were lions in the jungle.
As an adult, Eszterhas has expanded her backyard to the world. The wildlife photographer, 30, of Santa Cruz, travels the globe in search of stories to tell, specializing in the relationship between animals and their young offspring.
View this multimedia presentation to see her photos and hear the stories behind the images, and read Gwen Mickelson’s full story in the Sentinel.

Wow, what a brave young woman Suzi Eszterhaus is…not only living alone in the Serengehti Mara but alone with wild animals and (after seeing the “Constant Gardener”) alone in a very dangerous area politically. I would be scared sh##tless of the critters and the rebel riff raff (as in Constant Gardener) I think it is so cool to see her follow her girl hood dream and really live on “the Edge”. God bless you Suzi, you be safe now!
Sincerely, Marty Mechanic.

Does not Suzi has a Hungarian origin? Her family name rings the bell in any Hungarian ears.
