Ford issues safety recall of about 100K 2013 Escape and Fusion vehicles

Ford is recalling 80,057 model year 2013 Escape and Fusion vehicles because the engines may overheat, causing a fluid leak that may reach the hot exhaust system, possibly resulting in a fire.

Meanwhile, the company also is recalling another 19,106 2013 Fusions because the low beam headlamp protector coating may become hazy over time, reducing driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

While the recall campaign remedy for the engine problem is still being developed, both recalls are to begin this month. The recall campaign numbers are 12C41 and 12C27, respectively.
