Ford Motor Company is recalling 5,499 model year 2012 Edge vehicles because the fuel line pulse damper metal housing may crack.
A fuel odor and continuous leak while the fuel system is pressurized may result and a fire could occur.
Ford will contact vehicle owners, while dealers will make the repairs for free.
The recall campaign number is 12S40 and the recall is to begin around Sept. 24.
