Drive safe. AAA reports 4.5 million people in California will hit the road this holiday weekend.
If you’re one of them and determine that you are unable to drive yourself home from a turkey day party because you’ve had too much to drink, call AAA’s free Tipsy Tow program at (800) 222-4357 or AAA-HELP for a free ride home. You don’t have to be a member to benefit.
Tipsy Tow will take you and your vehicle home, as long as it’s within five miles of the point of pickup. Your passengers also will be dropped off at your home if they fit in the tow truck’s cab.
The program runs from 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25 through 6 a.m. Nov. 26 in Northern California, Nevada and Utah.
“Just tell the AAA operator, ‘I need a Tipsy Tow,’ and a truck will be on its way,” said Cynthia Harris, AAA spokesperson.
Rides are provided on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not accepted.
