James Spring wanted to do something special as his 40th birthday approached. He went to Baja, Mexico, and rescued two girls who were missing: Viana and Faith Carelli. The girls’ parents were wanted for murder. The girls’ grandparents, from Soquel, are grateful for their return, April 8, 2008. Spring talks about the experience with Sentinel reporter Jennifer Squires, whose earlier story led the Spring’s interest in the case.
