Life really IS sweet for Bridgett Titus of Aptos--for her entry won first place in the Santa Cruz County Fair's apple pie contest, junior division Tuesday.

Twenty-three pounds of marijuana buds worth more than $80,000 as well as 1,400 marijuana plants were found inside a house the 3800 block of Redwood Drive in Aptos Saturday. In addition, Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies confiscated nine guns as well as more than $40.000 cash and arrested one man.
