The District Attorney’s decision to file charges in connection with the takeover of a vacant bank building last year has not been popular among the activist community.
Earlier this week, defendants Robert Kahn and Becky Johnson confronted Santa Cruz District Attorney Bob Lee about the charges. Alex Darocy over at IndyBay has the video here:
Two of the defendants, Cameron Laurendeau and Franklin Alcantara, are due back in court tomorrow to confirm a preliminary hearing set for next week. It will be the second such hearing for each man – the same charges were previously dismissed by Judge Paul Burdick at an earlier preliminary hearing but the prosecution re-filed.
