Who am I?
I cover crime, courts and the Live Oak School District for the Santa Cruz Sentinel. I'm originally from New York state's capital, Albany, but was most recently living in Chicago. I'm excited to be in Santa Cruz, adjusting to life on the left coast. It's a whole lot different than what I'm used to.Subscribe by e-mail

I don’t think we’re in New York anymore, Toto
In the first few weeks of working for the Sentinel, I found myself literally lost on a regular basis. The title of my blog refers to being lost in a more metaphoric sense of course, but being physically lost also … Continue reading

life is strange from coast to coast
I wanted to assert, for the record, that I am not trying to target or denigrate Santa Cruz with this blog. All jokes aside, I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place and not have to dread a … Continue reading

It’s been a bad couple of weeks for our feathered friends in Santa Cruz County. First we had the case of the woman accused of drunkenly throwing around her pet duck. In that incident, Michelle Love was arrested in the … Continue reading

Truth is stranger than fiction: Commander X, the alleged homeless hacker
There’s something inherently amusing in the term “homeless hacker.” Sounds almost like a superhero or something, which I suppose is fitting considering the person accused of being the homeless hacker is known as Commander X. That’s got comic book … Continue reading
