Harbor High alum Quinn Mulhern gets UFC call

Quinn Mulhern, a 2002 graduate of Harbor High, will make his UFC debut on March 16 when he fights Rick Story at UFC 158 in Montreal’s Bell Centre, it was announced Tuesday.

Mulhern (18-2), who was previously fighting in Strikeforce, is replacing the injured Sean Pierson in the bout. The fight is part of the event’s preliminary card, and is expected to air on FX.

Mulhern was 3-1 in Strikeforce, winning his last three fights against Danny Davis Jr. (submission), David Hulett (unanimous decision) and Yuri Villefort (split decision).

The Santa Cruz native and resident of New Mexico was previously scheduled to fight Jorge Santiago on Sept. 29, but that bout never transpired after headliner Gilbert Melendez withdrew with an injury.

Story (14-6), meanwhile, will be looking to get back on track after losing three of his last four bouts, including his most previous fight against Demian Maia (submission) at UFC 153.
