If I had the choice to live at all
I’d live for something fun

I’d  live a life less people
With trees and jungle bush
I’d live less civilization
With beach and sea and fruit

It seems the complication
Is the people here
The lives of strife
Entangled where
Simplicity is far from clear

There are so many valleys
Yet crowded by concrete
From riverside to cliff height
The defenseless land is beat…

The people dwell
Where heartache lives
And nature falls
Where humans thrive

So I wonder what a day would be,
Peopleless…
Wild and free…

I wonder how much more could be
Electronicless…
With views to see…

Where less than crowds
More empty space
Null of stress
Void of face

A day in nature
More would be
Eternal serenity

We thrive on us
At least we think
We need each other
Or we might sink

But all we need is sun and air
Food and water
A shelter bare.

We think we need expression
We believe in fitting in
We feel we need to give ourselves
To every finite thing.

Today’s world is a luxury.
We want, we take, we give, we break…
We forge, we make,
Create mistakes…

The plants want nothing from us
They merely want to live
Trampled by a human foot
And yet they give and give.

Imagine a day as a daisy.
We grow, we love, we see, we die….
We don’t complain
Needn’t refrain…

Just be –
What a luxury.

Can you create another entrance?

A corridor to another dimension?

Can you befuddle the logic

Create abstraction in conformity

Is there another way out?

Will the end be the same for all?

Will we always rise just to fall?

Will we ever again crawl?

Will life ever just be a ball?

Do you have to go in?
Do you have to go out?
Can you remain in the same
In a ceaseless roundabout?

Is there a way to escape this thing that we fear…
Or is the end just the beginning in a new life’s year?

Will we rest in the pond, or will we flow to the ocean…
Will we stop and forget every single notion?

The whale carries the knowledge to the end of the earth…
Maybe the whale has set sail for another perch…

Just a scale on the snake that has flaked…
Remember to shake
Off the skin of the past
Leave it there as long as it lasts…
For the future to find it and see into the past

To remember what was –
And how far you have come…

One Day

One day… of a thousand days…
…at least!

One day…
What makes this day different
than each sun that rose before?
Each  moon that has glown in the sky?

One Day…
24 hours of moments…
Hundreds, thousands of faces passed…
Hundreds which are yesterday’s faces…
Tomorrow’s future.

The same faces…
Yet different expressions
Hardened from toil
Lightened by love
Cold from the frost
Warm from the metro’s masses
Bopping to some tunes
that no one else can hear
Breathing a common air…

Sharing a look
a subway seat
a bar on a bus
a sway with the tram
a glance at the clock
a rush out the door
a Forint passes on forward…

Yet in this same day
Each moment is our own
While shared with the rest…
And as the notes play to the melody
So our path sways with the city…

Reverberating to the country….
Echoing across the cliffs
Above the valley
where the river flows from the sea…

From You
To Me.

Everywhere you go, there you are…

So,  here I am

Again, here, there…

What’s the difference

What’s the same

Every opposite completes its whole

Every mole has its hole

Every light depends on darkness

Every day depends on night

Every song needs the silence

Every sea needs the sky

Every truth is myth and illusion

Every reality merely delusion

The end the beginning of something else

The leaving is coming

And silence is humming

And posh is a pish thing that parts with the pot

Because by being we’re nothing

And non-existence is something

And also there’s nothing somewhere

While also something nowhere

So which way do you sow

On which path do you go

Whence the something was nothing and nothing was something and something was somewhere you weren’t or your not…but if there you aren’t and here you are then where are you going and why so far?

Because here where you are is the place that you be and if there you are somewhere

It’s a fine place to be

And in that somewhere you are then are you there at all?

Somewhere there’s someplace you aren’t ever at all and the place where you are is so seemingly such…it’s a place that there’s something, while not very much…

So here and then there and then there after here

Because somewhere is something and somewhere you are…
