Yes, kiddies, there is something to look forward to, recession be damned. Under the this-just-in category, the world’s most super supergroup U2 has announced a new date at the Oakland Coliseum — June 16 — the tickets of which will go on sale Monday, Nov. 2. Tickets for general admission are $55 and $95 (plus service charges, of course), though there will be some $30 tickets available. The high end ticket will run about $250. Subscribers to U2′s Web site get advance access to tickets. Otherwise, go to LiveNation.com for tix to go on sale Monday at 10 a.m.
Closer to home, the icon known as Snoop Dogg brings his menagerie to the Catalyst on Nov. 17. Tix are $49 advance; $54 at the door. Go to the Catalyst for more info. Later in the year (Dec. 9) former NWA rapper turned movie star Ice Cube comes to the Cat.
Also, look for the eternally Santa Cruz popular troubadour Todd Snider rolling into the Rio Theatre. The show is Dec. 11, go here for tix.
