Man who harassed teen girl seen again

A teenage girl who was twice followed to school by a strange man in October spotted the guy again one morning this week as she walked to Santa Cruz High School, police reported today.

The 14-year-old girl was walking on California Street between Bay and Laurel streets when she saw the man riding a blue mountain bike nearby, police said. In the past the man had walked with her and asked her personal questions, but in this week’s incident he didn’t talk to anyone, police said.

The man’s name might be David, police said. The girl told officers he’s Latino, 25-30 years old, 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 7 inches tall, 160-180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police asked that anyone with information about the man to call 420-5820 or the anonymous tip line at 420-5995.

You have got to be kidding me! She was harrassed once, then a second time, they don’t know who the guy is or what she wants and she is still walking to school for thirds?! Does the family know anyone with a car who might drive her (there’s a novel idea) until this gets figured out. I realize she shouldn’t have to change her lifestyle because of this guy, but how about a little parental common sense!
