Senior Bowl football game is today at Cabrillo

The Santa Cruz Hosts Senior Bowl football game is Saturday at Cabrilo College at 4 p.m.
Harbor High’s Jeff Cox will coach the North, which includes seniors from Harbor, San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz and Soquel.
The South is coached by Watsonville’s John Montante and includes players from Aptos, Watsonville, Pajaro Valley, St Francis and Monte Vista Christian.
Admission for adults is $10 and children under 10 are free. The event is a fundraiser for the schools involved and several organizations throughout the county.
The North won last year’s rain-marred contest 21-13.
This year’s teams feature plenty of fire power.
The North, headlined by running backs Fabiano Hale of Soquel and Ari Wargon of Scotts Valley, also have some solid receivers in Soquel’s Trestan Peacock and San Lorenzo Valley’s Lucas Sinott. And Harbor lineman Dakotah Francis is listed as running back, which create some suspense to see if he lines up in the backfield.
Scotts Valley’s Garrett Johnston is the North’s lone quarterback.
While both team feature formidable offensive lines, the South appears to have edge in standout receivers in St. Francis’ Nate Ceballos and MVC’s Zander Fischer-Tellez and David Hightower.
The South, with Watsonville’s Eddie Mares and Aptos Cody Clifton at quarterback, have several talented running backs in Watsonville’s Roger Contreras and Michael Barcelo and Aptos’ Aaron McAnerney, Brodie Bennet and Elijah Marta.

Jim Seimas, your article u2018Hale, Wargon help North edge South innthird annual Lions Senior Bowlu2019 kind of really bothered me. I mean, a lot of your articles about Aptos football piss of people in the Aptos Football familynand myself, Iu2019m only now saying something about it because Iu2019m sick of it. This article was written in a way that makes it sound like Soquel won a rematchnagainst Aptos. Not only was it not a rematch, but if it was, then Aptos stillnwon. When we completely threw out our offensive plan and plays and begannrunning the Wing – T, with just the Aptos o-line and running backs, when Halengot his u201crematchu201d, we scored three touchdowns, and the North only kicked anfield goal. The 2012 Soquel Knights have never beaten the 2012 Aptos Mariners, nand never will. Sorry Soquel, thatu2019s the one record you will never break.nnnI didnu2019t write this to be malicious or confrontational, Inwrote this because I feel like (and Iu2019m sure the rest of the Aptos FootballnFamily will agree with me) that the Sentinel, without fail, week in, week out, nrobbed Aptos the respect we as players worked for through pain and blood tonachieve. I have a few questions for Jim Seimas and Andrew Matheson; why do younhate Aptos Football, and why do you let it carry on to your work and writing?u00a0
