Aptos’ Eddie Olson advanced from a pre-qualifier Thursday at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada for the upcoming Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open.
Olson, a former Aptos High and UNLV standout, shot 66 to tie for fourth place with La Quinta’s Dillon Dougherty and Clay Ogden of Farmington, Utah. The low 51 scores and ties advanced to the Monday qualifier.
The PGA event begins Thursday at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
Mitchel Carlson of Las Vegas won the pre-qualifier with 63. Bryan Newman of La Quinta and Kevin Penner of Las Vegas shot 64 to tie for second.
