MVC’s Taylor Cohan commits to ASU football as walk-on

Monte Vista Christian School quarterback Taylor Cohan announced Monday that he has accepted a preferred walk-on spot on Arizona State University’s football team to go along with an academic scholarship for the business school.
Cohan, a 6-foot-3, 201-pounder, finished his senior season completing 163 of 256 pass attempts for 2,238 yards with 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. He helped the Mustangs [10-2, 5-1] win their first Monterey Bay League title — which they shared with Christopher and Monterey — and make their first Central Coast Section playoffs appearance since 1999.
His 30 touchdown passes is the school’s season record, breaking Trevin Kent’s mark of 23 in 2005.
In his three-year career, Cohan completed 335 of 589 passes for 4,889 yards with 61 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
