Goalie Coral Hoover, midfielders Morgan Miller and Leah Morales and the rest of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s womens soccer team return to the Bay Area fresh off a 5-0 rout of Florida International on Sunday.
Morales [Harbor High] and Miller [Monte Vista Christian] each recorded assists and Hoover [Harbor] posted the shutout as the Mustangs [3-4 overall, with four one-goal losses] won back-to-back games and three of the past four.
This weekend the Mustangs compete in the Santa Clara adidas Classic. The Mustangs will face two teams in three days that have been in the top 15 of the NSCAA/adidas National Rankings.
Cal Poly will face Santa Clara at 7:30 p.m. Friday and No. 6 Stanford at 11 a.m. Sunday. The Mustangs are a combined 0-17-3 against those two opponents lifetime.
